Security, compliance and backups

Security and compliance, managed in one place
for every app you’ll ever build.

Security scans, data leaving each app, backups and who has access — on one screen, whether you run five apps or five hundred.

The perimeter

Every app you build on UpliftOS
is born inside one boundary.

UpliftOS puts it there the moment it’s built. Another organization’s apps can’t reach it, it never holds its own AI key, and every AI call and email it sends goes out through one gate that writes a receipt.

By invitationRun the apps you build inside your own Kubernetes cluster instead of ours.

Where the boundary stops: by default the apps you build run in the UpliftOS cloud at a public address, and can still reach the open internet. Payment and messaging services get their own keys. The wall is between your organization and every other one.

Born secure

Every app UpliftOS builds
ships with its security already in it.

Six protections go into the first version of every app, before anyone has opened it. Nobody has to remember to switch them on.

The part an auditor asks for

Every record is linked to the one before it.
Edit the past and the numbers stop matching.

When somebody asks what left your organization, who received it and when, you do not go looking. You export it. The export covers the whole range with no row limit, and it carries its own integrity check — so it tells you if a record was altered or removed, and exactly where.

Kept apart

Your app’s data lives in its own database.
Not a shared one with a column for your name.

Every app we deploy gets its own database and its own login, and that login is only allowed to open that one. Another company’s app cannot reach yours even if it tries — it is refused at the door, not filtered afterwards.

If the worst happens

Anyone can say they take backups.
We restore ours every month to prove it.

Your app’s data is protected exactly the way ours is, because it sits in the same place. At most about a minute of work is ever at risk. And on the first of every month a machine rebuilds the whole thing from a backup and checks that real records come back out.

Who gets in

People sign in with the account they already have.
And they only see their own work.

Nobody keeps a second password for us. Your organization’s existing sign-in — Okta, Microsoft, Google — is the one that works, and when your directory says somebody joined a team or left the company, that arrives here on its own.

The list we keep honest

Everything on this page, in three columns.
Including the column we would rather not print.

When one of these changes we move the row. We don’t reword it, and we don’t quietly promote something from the right-hand column because it is nearly done.

Working now
  • Locks on every new app, in its first version
  • Every transfer out written down, linked to the one before it
  • Sign in with the account you already have
  • People added and removed from your own directory
  • Each app’s data in its own database, with its own login
  • Backups every six hours, restored and checked monthly
  • Download your app’s source and walk away with it
  • Export your own personal data, yourself
  • An export shaped for health, student and European privacy rules
Being built
  • An outside audit of our own controls
  • One export of everything an organization holds
  • A password rule you can set for your people
  • Ending somebody’s open session from the admin screen
Not yet
  • Encryption keys that only you hold
  • A public status page
  • Signed installers
  • Instant switchover if the database hardware dies
  • Exporting your app’s database yourself
  • Running the whole thing on your own cloud
